Natchez Trace Parkway.
I'm cozily encamped at site #42 in the Pickwick Dam State Park. The campground, as of 8pm, is barely inhabited...maybe 5 or 6 other campers with, of course, yours truly being by far the most primitive. I don't even have a tent. So tonite I sleep under the stars...
Since leaving Indianapolis yesterday, I have driven a total of 650 miles [of what would eventually be 10,000 miles]...almost all of them picturesque byways...
Spent last night in Lexington, KY with Mike Connor, his wife, Joanna and Lucy, who will soon be joined by a little sister named "Cupcake". Mike and I spent last night at a pizza joint near the UK campus, talking, eating pizza, and drinking Kentucky Bourbon Ale...which is delicious and you can really taste the bourbon
