roadtrip part 2: August/September 2009.

...inside Black Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park. I'd never heard of this park before the day I visited it...and I'm guessing one reason why is that this park is difficult to photograph, being concave as opposed to convex...but it is a low-key, relaxing National Park to visit early in the day...

Blue Mesa Reservoir, CO...

on US 50 in Colorado...there's a tram at Monarch Pass [the building marked "scenic" in the background] that takes you even higher but unfortunately it was closed for the season...

early Fall in Colorado...

Rocky Mountain National Park...

Devils Tower National Monument, Wyoming. There was a dozen people I saw climbing the Tower while I was there. In the bottom image, including part of the nearby trading post signage made for a nice caption. Now somebody go get me some mashed potatoes...

bison near Wind Cave National Park, South Dakota...

Mount Rushmore National Memorial.

Badlands National Park...

Wall Drug [of the Where The Heck Is Wall Drug? bumpersticker fame] in Wall, SD.
